Camping Games for the Whole Family

Family Fun | Baird TX

If you’re looking for a new way to entertain the little ones as well as the rest of your family on your next camping trip, try out these camping games. After a day spent swimming, fishing and hiking, these games can help the fun continue.

Flashlight tag

Once the sun sets, flashlight tag is a great way to burn off some energy. The tagger uses a flashlight to seek out others and then tags someone by pointing the light at them. If you’re tagged, you take the flashlight and begin looking for players.

Races

Potato sack races are a tradition for many family picnics. If you don’t have any potato sacks, you can use trash bags to hop to your designated finish line.

Scavenger hunt

Come up with a list of items for your family to find at your campsite or on trails and then head out on a scavenger hunt. These items could include objects of certain colors, types of flowers and more.

Ring toss

As you sit outside your RV, you can start a ring toss game by simply placing a stick vertically into the ground. You can then try to toss rings, like a piece of rope tied in a circle or a glow stick bracelet, over the stick.

We at Hanner RV Supercenter hope you have a fantastic camping trip. Before hitting the road, check out our available RVs.

Road Trip Games to Play in the RV

RVs are great for exploring new destinations and taking in sites you’ve never seen before, but the drive between destinations can sometimes be a drag. Help the time go by faster by playing these road trip games with the family.

Alphabet game

Players of this game must search the roads for words that start with the letters of the alphabet. Beginning with the letter “A,” whoever spots a word starting with “A” can move on to the letter “B,” while the other players stay focused on “A.” Players continue down the alphabet, until someone finds a “Z” word and subsequently wins the game

Cow in the cemetery game

Divide the RV into two teams and assign each the left or right windows. Each team must count as many cows as they can with the goal being to count more cows than the other team. If you pass a cemetery on your side, all previously counted cows no longer count, and you must start from zero. This game can be played in areas without cows by counting a different animal or object.

One-word stories

Challenge your family to tell a story. The catch is that this story can only be told one word at a time. Each player says one word, building upon each other’s words to create sentences. This usually leads to lots of silly stories and laughs all around.

We at Hanner RV wish your family a safe and entertaining road trip in your RV. Before heading out on the road, stop by our service department for maintenance.
